West Side Theatre Guild’s Mark Spencer Honored by the Indiana State School Music Association
(Gary, IND) Last week, Mark Spencer, Director of Performing Arts and the West Side Theatre Guild of the Gary Community School Corporation, was honored by the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA). Mr. Michael K. Bridgewater, ISSMA Executive Director, traveled from Indianapolis to make the presentation in the WSTG-TV studio of the located at West Side Leadership Academy. An employee of the district for more than 30 years, Spencer received the “Distinguished Service Award” from the ISSMA for making a tremendous impact on the Indiana State School Music Association and the Arts Organizations in his community.
“I am truly humbled by this extraordinary honor,” said Spencer. “What a blessing it is to be honored for doing what I love which is impacting the lives of young people through the arts.”
