Who We AreThe West Side Leadership Academy stands as the sole high school within the Gary Community School Corporation. This esteemed institution, home to the formidable Cougars spanning grades 9th to 12th, provides a plethora of opportunities. These range from a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to extensive programs in the Arts.
Freshman Electives
9th grade students who have recently registered and need to make an elective course selection can submit their elective choice to the QR code or click the link below
10th-12th Grade Electives
The deadline for students to submit and receive elective courses changes is August 30th .
All submissions should be made through the QR code or link below.
Students should follow their current schedule until a change is made by their counselor.

As we embark on a new chapter at West Side Leadership Academy, I am writing to you with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of commitment to our school community. Having graduated from West Side in 1997, I am profoundly aware of the rich legacy and potential of our beloved alma mater. Over the years, we have faced challenges, and it is time for us to come together to rebuild and redefine the narrative surrounding our school. With a renewed focus on cultivating a strong school culture and empowering our students for success in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) careers, we are dedicated to ensuring that every student who walks through our doors has the opportunity to thrive and excel.
