Dear GCSC Families,
Season’s Greetings! As we approach the end of the first semester, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your diligence, support, and trust as we navigate through the current pandemic together. We have, and will continue to be committed to the safety, social-emotional care, and academic growth of our students. As we look at the data for Lake County and consider the science concerning virus spread in schools, we have decided to start the process of school re-entry brick and mortar beginning January 19, 2021. The process will be rolled out in phases.
Phase 1: Beginning January 19, 2021
- Elementary students have a choice of In-Person Traditional Learning (Monday- Friday) or to continue E Learning at Home
- Middle School students have a choice of Hybrid Learning (2 days at school and 3 days at home learning)
- High School students will continue learning at home at this time
A detailed plan that explains each phase will be posted to our website WWW.Garyschools.org. We will be using the data as provided by our local health department to determine when to move safely to each phase. Please be sure to fill out the survey on our website to indicate how your child will return on January 19th. Please be mindful that selections will be permanent until the start of the next phase.
During this time of family, friends, and celebrating we want to extend our warmest wishes for a Happy Holiday Season and a Prosperous New Year. Winter break will be from December 21st-January 1st. Virtual Learning for all students will resume on January 4, 2021.
